After several weeks of disruption, Google appears to have resolved the issue that caused extended delays in the Search Console Performance report. Recent updates suggest the data is now refreshing within a timeframe much closer to normal.

For much of the past month, users noticed that Search Console performance data was arriving far later than expected. Instead of the usual short delay, reports were often taking more than two days to update.

In some cases, the lag stretched beyond 50 hours, and at its worst exceeded 70 hours. This made it difficult for site owners and SEO professionals to monitor traffic changes or assess the impact of recent website updates.

The issue affected a wide range of users, from individual site owners to agencies managing multiple client accounts. Many reported confusion and uncertainty as recent clicks and impressions failed to appear in reports.

Over the past few days, however, there has been a noticeable improvement. Performance reports now appear to be updating within a more typical window of around two to six hours.

This change indicates that Google has likely cleared the backlog of delayed data that had built up over several weeks. The issue itself began earlier in the year and took close to three weeks to fully unwind.

Users checking the Search Performance section should now see more current data for metrics such as clicks, impressions, average position and click-through rate. For most accounts, reporting appears to be functioning as expected once again.

While this fix will come as a relief to many, it does not apply across all areas of Search Console. One key report remains affected by delays.

The Page Indexing report continues to lag significantly behind real-time activity. At present, the data shown is nearly a month old, making it difficult to confirm whether new or updated pages have been indexed correctly.

Google has acknowledged this problem within the Search Console interface. A message at the top of the Page Indexing report explains that internal issues are preventing the display of the latest data.

For businesses and agencies that rely heavily on indexing information, this ongoing delay remains a major concern. Without up-to-date indexing data, diagnosing technical SEO issues becomes far more challenging.

This is particularly problematic for websites that publish content frequently or rely on timely indexing for visibility, such as news sites, ecommerce platforms and large content-driven websites.

Despite the reporting issues, Google has continued to introduce new features and enhancements within Search Console over recent weeks.

One of the most notable additions is AI-powered configuration within the Search Performance report. This feature is designed to help users analyse data more efficiently and identify insights more quickly.

Google has also expanded the Insights report to include information from social channels, offering a broader view of how content performs beyond search alone.

In addition, new weekly and monthly smoothing options have been introduced within the Performance report. These allow users to better spot longer-term trends by reducing short-term fluctuations in the data.

While the return of timely Performance reporting is a positive step, many users remain cautious. The unresolved delays affecting the Page Indexing report continue to create uncertainty and reporting challenges.

For now, site owners and SEO professionals will welcome the restoration of normal Performance data, while waiting for Google to provide a clear timeline on when indexing reports will also return to full accuracy.
